With a history of over 110 years, Mahosot General Hospital is located in the heart of the Laotian capital Vientiane. However, with the rapid development of local economy and society, it is difficult for the hospital’s original medical facilities and equipment to meet the growing demand of the Lao people for medical services.

With the rising popularity of the patient-centered medical management approaches, the design and key point of Mahosot General Hospital has been shifted to provide the Lao patients with better medical services and experience. In its foreign aid projects, China IPPR International Engineering has gradually explored a people-oriented approach on the basis of local conditions, emphasizing the building of low-energy and green architecture.

Given the unique nature of Mahosot General Hospital, the project requires the construction to proceed simultaneously with its full operation. As the responsible side of the project's design and management, China IPPR International Engineering has adopted precise plans and scientific coordination to ensure the completion and handover of its first phase to local health authorities in November 2021, with the second phase under construction smoothly.
