The 2021 China (Macao) International Automobile Exposition was recently held at the Venetian Macao Convention and Exhibition Center in Macao.

The three-day event was organized by Sinomach, Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited, and the Macao Convention and Exhibition Association, and undertaken by Sinomach subsidiary China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd.

The exposition, now in its 11th year, displayed more than 3,700 vehicles and attracted more than 1.2 million visitors from home and abroad.

It is the largest and most famous international exhibition in Hong Kong and Macao with the most influential and complete exhibition of Chinese automobile brands.

In line with Macao's stated themes of an "intelligent auto show" and "building a zero-carbon city", the event showcased a slew of new concept vehicles featuring new energy and environmental protection.

This year's expo covered an area of 65,000 square meters, with three display areas themed on Made in China, new energy and imported brands.

More than 200 established auto makers from over 20 countries and regions brought nearly 400 vehicles to the expo, which provided a stage for sharing cutting-edge information and products of the Chinese new-energy automobile industry.

The auto show organized a forum on development trends of new energies and smart transport, one of more than 20 forums and activities held in parallel with the event.

The event attracted more than 80,000 visitors and facilitated orders for more than 600 vehicles, generating a sales volume of nearly 200 million yuan ($31.32 million).

In addition, the auto show has boosted the development of various industries in Macao through cultural activities related to automobiles, new energy and sustainable development, and has created a cascade of effects in Macao's hotel and catering business, tourism, retailing and transportation industries.

It has injected momentum into the recovery of the local convention and exhibition industry, and added to the sustainable development of Macao's economy.
